Free List of Government Grants

With the amount of financial aid and assistance that both individuals and businesses are applicable for, it can be confusing finding out if you are applicable for such packages and if so, where to apply. To aid in this, many federal and state organizations have come up with a free list of government grants. This shows which states and agencies are applicable for financial aid.

One such publication is the Catalog for Federal Domestic Assistance, or CFDA. This shows the complete list of the government grants that Congress has approved. By seeing which agencies have won financial packages, this list can be a resourceful tool for those looking to benefit from these grants. However, since it can be quite a confusing read for those with little or no prior knowledge in this area, it's wise to try and acquaint yourself with how the information works.

The CFDA list is available to any business, organization or sole individual who may believe they have already qualified for the grants on display. However, since the list only advises which agencies will benefit, there is no guarantee that you will actually be able to apply for the grant you require. Therefore, it is imperative that you know what information to look for, such as the criteria for inclusion and successful grants.

It's not just the CFDA where you can gather the information you need to see where the grants have been awarded to. Various government agencies also have access to the free list of government grants, and anyone with access to a computer can access them easily. The information can be found on the websites of the following agencies:

* Department of Education Grants and Contracts Information

* Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

* Department of Transportation (DOT)

* National Institutes of Health (NHI)

* Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

* Department of Justice (DOJ)

* Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

* Stopping Violence Against Women and Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS)

On these sites, you will find details of over 300 various grants and programs that will benefit from government aid. Other agencies on the list include the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, which deals with humanitarian aid for victims of natural disasters. It was agency that was involved in the clear up of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. If you're on extremely low income, you can also find details of the Food and Nutrition Services, which can advise on and administer food coupons.

Even if you're a student that's not a homeowner or tenant you can still benefit from the information that can be found on a free list of government grants. By checking the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, website, it can advise how to apply for any financial aid you might be applicable for to help with your studies. For a full list of these benefits and more, you should check the Government Benefits website itself at http://www.govebenefits.gov/.
